good art people are not:

who are

good art people?

  • Good art people are passionate about art in some way, shape or form: Creating it, collecting it, selling it, talking about it, explaining it, looking at it, sitting with it, decorating with it, and being affected by it.

  • Good art people know that the energy of original artwork affects them on a deeper level and it energetically shapes the space in which it resides. They know that owning original art is much different than having a store-bought manufactured copy from Home Goods.

  • Good art people are all around good people with good hearts. They have warm and inviting energy. They genuine, kind, helpful, understanding, interested and interesting.

  • Good art people are naturally intuitive and empathetic. They see and feel in unexplainable ways. Through visions, dreams, goose-bumps, inner knowing, telepathic receiving, and sensing. They are guided by their inner wisdom and by love.

  • Good art people are different in their own unique ways. Quirky personalities, edge-explorers, and truth seekers and speakers.

  • They are not snobby, ‘better than’, or assholes (on a regular basis).

  • They are not Gatekeepers or Cock-blockers of opportunity.

  • They do not think that they know more than everyone else and think you must be stupid if you do not know what they are talking about in the art world.

  • They do not ignore you when it’s convenient.

  • They do not talk down to others.

  • They do not make it their job to tear other artists down or to sabotage another artists’ work.

AA = Art Asshole

AS = Art Snob

AG = Art Gatekeeper

ACB = Art Cock-blocker

AD = Art Demon

make the

g.a.p. Promise

G.A.P. (Good Art People) is what will bring the positive impact of art to the millions of people who don't yet know, understand, or experience the magic of artwork in their lives.

It is literally a gap in the world that we are bridging through our promise to be good art people.

By clicking below, I promise to myself and the world:

Place right hand on chest and raise your left hand to make this official pledge.

SAY: I (insert full name) pledge to do the following for the rest of my life:

  1. To show my love and support to working and alive artists and the arts by purchasing at least one piece of original art (or a print) from an artist every year. Or by attending an alive artists’ event: a play, a concert, a book signing, or art opening. There must be a monetary exchange to support a working artist each year in some way, shape or form.

  2. To share with others about my love of art and how it positively impacts my life.

  3. To be helpful to others who are in the arts. Give introductions, share about their work on social media, mention their name in a room that can help them.

  4. Do not be an AA, AS, AG, ACB or AD as defined above.

  5. Do the secret handshake to welcome other GAP.
